Reader Comments: 2010

3 January 2010

Shalom,
My name is Jeremy and I am a fellow believer in Yeshua who believes that Torah is for all of God’s people today. I am 21 years old going to Huntington University for Biblical Studies. About two years ago I started digging into Torah and your website was one of the first that I stumbled onto. I am very grateful for the article Law 102 because that is one of the first articles I read that really got me thinking more about my mainstream Christian beliefs. Then about one year ago my wife and I decided that God’s Torah was ultimately a blessing that every believer should be keeping.
Thanks for everything!

Cecelia is commenting on a recent PDF article that I sent out to all on my email list, titled, Circumcision for the Gentile Believer? and an article about the bread of Passover in John 13:18:
Shalom Avram,
I found your article on Circumcision particularly informative, as the Seventh Day Adventist Church here do practice circumcision.
Thank you very much. May God continue to bless you.

In commenting on Yahshua, Jesus or Yeshua?

Shalom, Avram and Ruti,

As always, you have provided answers to issues that sometimes come up in my circles.
I have not stopped using the name of Jesus or Yeshua. You did provide much biblical proof to support the name of Jesus, Yeshua.
Jesus continues to magnify Himself in my life and in the lives of my family. I have learned, and continue to learn, to wait on Him.

I remember you in my prayers. Blessings in our Lord and Savior.

In commenting on a recent PDF article that I sent out titled, Yahshua, Jesus or Yeshua?

Shalom, Avram,

AWESOME article.

Thank you for such a well written, thorough and understandable article!
I was wondering about the whole ‘Yahshua’ thing. I completely agree with your findings. It resonates with my spirit.
May I reprint this on my blog with your credits? People need to read this.
I was in Israel for about 9 months…back in the States. I miss Israel soooo much.

Hugs to you and your wife,

In commenting on Yahshua, Jesus or Yeshua?

Shalom, Avram!

I enjoyed the write-up on the name of Yeshua/Jesus. I was glad to know your position on it. I had looked into the Yahshua issue a few months back, but found sufficient information to pass on it without consulting you. I was pretty sure you’d be ‘agin it’ (or you would have spelled your last name Yahoshua, right?) Still, it was fun to read through. I always pick up something new when reading your work.

Thanks Avram, I can really use this, for I have friends that are heavy into the sacred name idea, some actually basing their salvation on using only the sacred names. This may help some who still have an open mind for truth.

God Bless you and Ruti as you minister for Him.

In commenting on Yahshua, Jesus or Yeshua?

Shalom Avram,

Whew! You are attacking maybe one of the most major issues in error at present.

Thanks for clearing this up…I’ve been attacked more than once for saying ‘Jesus’ and tried to explain that this is the Greek, AND as you’ve stated, even had my salvation questioned because I said ‘Jesus’!

For anyone who knows Hebrew, they know that ‘Yashua’ is not correct…

A good and clear writing.

Go Avram!

Thank you very much for this article! You are so right, I know many that will not even say the name Jesus and if they hear someone else say it…oh man! Haha raisins hey! OK, I have not seen someone go that far. I am going to send this out to them.

Thank you again

(Avram: I mentioned in the article that I knew a man who wouldn’t say the word, ‘raisin’ because it had the word ‘sin’ in it, and linked that to those who won’t say the name ‘Jesus’ because it sounds like ‘Zeus.’)

Todah, Avram!

I’ve been trying to clarify that the use of ‘Yahshua,’ in place of Yeshua, has no Biblical Hebrew basis, for the past 8 years. I fear it is very firmly entrenched and I have many friends who just won’t listen. I also highly respect Daniel Botkin, who still travels in the same circles as many of these friends. Your article is very detailed and should be helpful. May I post this article as a note on my facebook page?

In commenting on a recent PDF I sent out to all on my email list, titled, Law and Grace:

Shalom Avram,

I like when you write simple ‘just the facts’ position papers, with referrals to argument papers backing them up. I love the way you can snap back the answering scripture. I can’t think it’s a sin to envy you in that : )

Anyway, as I think you know, I live with non-believing family and most of my associates are non-believers as well. Some of them read and quote from the Skeptic’s Annotated Bible, which provides snappy ‘talk-back’ from a skeptic’s point of view (Steve Wells). Sometimes I can think of an equally snappy refutation to a line item, but wish I could find your wonderful one-liner-level answers right under Wells’ comments as he goes through the Bible. I have found some websites that purport to answer Steve Wells in particular, or atheists/skeptics in general, but you’d do it better.

Steve Wells started with the Bible a few years back, then went on to the Koran and Book of Mormon. He sneers at all of them…in a manner greatly appealing to the young, say, college-age, mind.

The new wrinkle is that he’s doing topical studies grouping his complaints. These don’t call for the line-by-line answer, but for a conclusive, but brief topical response, the kind you do so well.

All the best,

Dear Brother Avram,

Wonderful thoughts presented here and absolutely in line with what the Lord’s being speaking into my heart. The need to be alert to God’s will as it is daily revealed to us through His Word AND then being obedient. Obedience to God’s will (His laws) is every bit as important to the believer today as it was to the Israelites of old…Thy Kingdom comeThy WILL be done…on earth…today…in my life right now…as it is in heaven.

Over the two weeks (last Sunday and Sunday coming) this is the theme of my message to two separate congregations…and in 35 minutes time it will be part of a Bible Study for retired folks from our community. Your message just underscores how important that matter is to our Lord.

Thank you,
John

Hi Avram,

I just LOVE these e-mails of how you and Ruti are ministering in Israel. They are so full of information it makes one feel like they are right there with you. Thank-you for sharing these witnessing accounts and giving us names to pray for.

I also wanted to tell you that after finishing the book ‘The Lifting of The Veil,’ my understanding has been opened to many scriptures that seemed difficult. You have a unique gift for opening the scriptures to a very deep level.

Thank-you for all you do in and for Israel.

Peace be unto you and Ruti,

Dee
